Veterans looking for help with jobs, housing, education, and other needs are invited to the Veterans Resource Fair Wednesday, Aug. 17, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Braxton-Perkins American Legion Post 25, 7609 Marshall Avenue.
This free, one-stop event is hosted by the Newport News Re-Entry Veterans Subcommittee.
While the resource fair is focused on assisting veterans, it is open to anyone who wants to speak with representatives from more than two dozen agencies about employment, housing, education, and much more. Participating agencies include: Virginia Veterans Family Services, Valor Village, Newport News Sheriff’s Office, VA Workforce Council/Veteran’s Employment Center, Social Security Agency, Medicaid, Four Oaks Day Services and Training Center, and the Farley Center.
There will also be direct hire companies onsite including: City of Newport News, City of Hampton (Fleet, Traffic and Steam Plant), and VersAbility Resources. Contact Mr. Gabe Morgan, Jr. at 757-926-8092 for event information.
