The American Red Cross needs our help now more than ever! The pandemic has led to fewer blood drives at churches, businesses, schools, colleges, and more. This has caused a 34% decrease in new blood donors over last year, one of the largest year-to-year drops.
According to the Red Cross, historically low blood supply levels have forced some hospitals to defer patients from major surgery. The agency is worried that, if more donors don’t come forward to give blood, some patients that need transfusions may not receive them. The need for blood never stops, even as we prepare to celebrate the holidays again with family and friends. Please give blood! Find a drive on the American Red Cross website
