Suffolk Tourism is pleased to release a free, 16-page brochure that highlights the history of Downtown’s Cedar Hill Cemetery and includes a walkable tour of notable graves. Designed to create a virtual Suffolk visitor experience, this interactive brochure is downloadable now at https://issuu.com/suffolktourism/docs/cedarhillcemetery and offers unique insights into Suffolk’s heritage as visitors traverse the cedar-lined terrain dotted with timeworn headstones.
A place that would traditionally be considered somber, the historic Cedar Hill Cemetery is a stunning 32-acre expanse, rich in history and natural beauty. Once the 18th century farm of John Constant, Cedar Hill is now the final resting place for historical figures, politicians, and soldiers—many of whom greatly impacted the growth of Suffolk, as well as Virginia. An official Virginia Civil War Trail site, Cedar Hill Cemetery has long been an attraction for history buffs and walking groups.
